UPGRADE OR CUSTOM GUN??
This is a Super Fox. The owner of this gun hunts with a very capable dog named Maverick, and he opted to put the dog's portrait on the bottom of his upgraded Fox. Engraving is cut more deeply and the shading is given more attention by the engraver than what the factory engraver was able to offer. Background is finely punched instead of the cheaper factory mehod of using a liner to cut the background for contrast.
Is this a fake X Grade? Definitely not. The engraver signs his work in back of the triggerguard bow and the original grade is left on the water table as the factory stamped it. Instead of using a custom engraving pattern, the owner of the gun opted to have the engraving roughly identifiable to the old factory style, but better executed.
